Apple Crisp with Oat Crumble

The temps are getting cooler, the sun is setting earlier, the leaves are falling… Fall is here!

With fall comes fires in the fireplace, carving pumpkins, + my favorite: baking. After picking up the most delicious apples from the farmers market, I knew just the thing to make: Apple Crisp. Although, my favorite recipes call for loads of butter + sugar so I wanted to try my hand at making a healthier alternative without sacrificing any taste. Plus… the healthier the crisp, the more vanilla ice cream you can have with it.

.01 Preheat the oven to 375

.02 Wash, peel, + thinly slice 2-3 apples

.03 Place them in a pie dish + top with a mixture of cinnamon, 1/8 cup of white sugar, + 1/4 cup Barney Butter almond flour.

.04 In a small bowl, mix 1/3 cup oats, cinnamon, 1/8 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup of almond flour, 1 tsp coconut oil.

.05 Pour evenly over the apple slices

.06 Bake for 20 minutes, until crispy on top.

.07 Enjoy warm. Optional + recommended: Serve over vanilla ice cream
