(Healthy) Gummy Candies

I’ve always been a sucker for gummy candies but I know, I know… They are loaded with junk. What if I told you that these are loaded with fruits, veggies, + vitamins? SOLD. Made with real fruit + veggie juice, these homemade gummies are an awesome substitute… made using Salad Power‘s superfood juice blend, which comes in four flavors: “Just Veggies”, “Veggies + Apple”, “Veggies + Mango”, & “Veggies + Pineapple”. 

Each little bottle is LOADED with real fruit & veggies + super low in sugar, high in vitamins. Plus they’re super convenient to take on the go without having to pay an arm + a leg, like you would at a juicery.

Have you ever looked at the nutrition label of packaged juices or smoothies (not to name any names…)? They are filled with sugar… Usually over 30 grams! Meanwhile the American Heart Association recommends that women consume 26 grams of sugar PER DAY, and men consume 37.5 grams. That means that one innocent fruit smoothie could you over the daily recommended limit. Eek…

Luckily, however, Salad Power is committed to offering low sugar, delicious juices without any of the added junk. + I’ve taken advantage of their awesome properties by creating homemade fruit/veggie juice gummies!

What you’ll need:

3 tablespoons of gelatin

1 cup of Salad Power juice

Optional: Sugar or stevia

.01 Bring 1 cup of juice to a low boil, then remove from the heat for 3 minutes

.02 Optional: Stir in stevia or sugar if you’d like to sweeten the gummies

.03 Gradually whisk in 3 tablespoons of gelatin (ensure that it is thoroughly mixed to prevent clumping)

.04 Cool the mixture to room temperature, then pour into molds or onto parchment paper. I spread mine into a thin layer on parchment + cut into squares

.05 Refrigerate for 2 hours or until set

.06 Remove from molds or cut into squares

.07 Store in the refrigerator for up to a week
